When it comes to accessorizing, many women stay within their comfort zone of wearing the same piece with every outfit (we all have that gold chain with the dainty charm that makes us feel dressed up), or skip it all together. There is nothing wrong with either of these, expect that breaking away from your old stand-by certainly will add more fun and excitement your look. Before deciding that you and your 18 inch heart charm necklace are just fine, review these 5 tips and you just might realize you have more to express than you thought!

1) Ears or Neck: The key to accessorizing is to start with your statement pieces and then build from there. If you like long, dangling earrings, keep your neckline simple. Prefer to rock this season’s chunky necklace trend? Pair with matching, but small, earrings.
2) Arm Candy: Bracelets are so much fun and a must have accessory! Stacking bracelets is a great way to add sparkle to any look. Choose 3 or more of your favorite ones and don’t be afraid to mix and match.
3) Put a Ring on It: Fashion jewelry is all about expressing yourself! Expandable statement rings fit any finger and add that extra touch of attitude and boldness. In order to look balanced, wear the ring on the opposite hand as your stacked bracelets.
4) Handbag Obsession: No look is complete without a cute handbag! There are so many sizes and styles to choose from, but the key is to choose a bag that is comfortable and fits what you need wherever you are going. Headed out for the day with kids or the girls? A crossbody bag will give your hands the freedom they need to be active. Date night? A small clutch will pull your look together and be just big enough to fit your essentials (ID, lipstick, phone, done!).
5) Never Leave Home Without It: Your smile! It’s always your best accessory, ladies!

Three’s More Fun

After all of the Valentine’s Day candy is gone (now a workout is much needed) and the flowers have lost their petals, the one thing that is still bringing a smile to my face is my new sparkle! Yes, he DID get me the kind we refer to as a “girl’s best friend”, but to the shiny stacked bracelets on my wrists will I always be true.

I love the look of a bunch of bangles or bracelets wide and narrow layered from my wrist to my elbow. Ok, maybe not that many, but certainly a threesome is so much more fun than only one or two. Ladies, you can OWN this look and have fun experimenting with what brings you the most pleasure. My preferences are crystals, crystals and more crystals. I want to shimmer and sparkle everyday, otherwise, what is the point? This trend works with everything…from denim to a dress! Not sure where to begin? Choose ones that allow you to express yourself and that you are attracted to. The best part is, you can enjoy them all and all at once! Go ahead and indulge yourself…and you won’t even have to log hours in the gym afterwards. Just bask in your shiny glow!

Maybe I love it because I enjoy dancing and this fantastic addition to a skirt, dress or handbag adds movement and flair. This handbag is now my new every day fave. I carry it around town proudly and run my fingers through it occasionally to keep the long, luscious, genuine leather strands swinging freely about. Black is the new Black

“X is the new black”. We’ve all heard it. Whether “x” is black’s lighter version, grey, or some bold new color trend, I may embrace it for a season, but I will always resort back to black as the staple color of my wardrobe. There is no other color that is so chic, professional, and formal all in one. And let’s not forget flattering, which is probably the main reason we can all justify 12+ varieties of the LBD (Little Black Dress) hanging in our closet.

Black is also the easiest to accessorize because it is so versatile. Silver adds sparkle. Gold, glimmer. Or, if you like to stay on trend with the color palettes of each season, you can simply add a handbag or shoes as your pop of color. When I am styling a client wearing black, I see it as my blank canvas!

Flirty Fix

Here we are three weeks into 2014.  The celebrations and resolutions are almost long forgotten, but every year at this time, I crave something new…whether that is a new accomplishment, relationship or experience,  just to make sure the current year far surpasses the previous one.  It’s a crazy cycle,  but one that keeps me moving forward and progressing, so it’s actually a good thing

The same goes for my wardrobe.  I have many pieces that I love to wear, cannot wait to wear, and feel oh-so-fabulous when I wear, but isn’t there always room for something to out do even those favorite looks?  As a stylist and owner of Glam & Sassy, I realize I have an unfair advantage as I get my retail therapy in the form of a legit business buying trip (aka SHOPPING), but the good news is, my clients also benefit from it too!    These are the newest items I added to my assortment of goodies in order to get my fix for something new this January.  A word of advice to my clients…hurry and get them now before they ALL end up in MY closet!

I was bubbling with excitement when I was asked to style the cast of the new reality show, The Romance! Basically, I just had to put together outfits for the ladies to wear on their dates with their possible future love interest. Should be easy, right? Well, any girl who has had to find the perfect outfit for an exciting first date knows that usually entails trying on lots of possible options, looking in the mirror to check out all angles, and an inevitable pile of dresses, shoes, and accessories strewn about in the process. But, as any Glam & Sassy girl does, I was up for the challenge and nailed it! The ladies loved their Glam & Sassy dresses, jewelry and handbags and they all looked absolutely gorgeous! When we look good, we feel even better, and it is all about walking into a room with lots of sparkle…which is not only stacked on our wrists and necklines, but on the inside as well! These cast members definitely had both! Check out the pics of some of the cast at our shoot on Saturday and remember to always wear YOUR best sparkle!

Handbag Obsession

Yes, I have an obsession. Like most ladies, I can’t seem to have enough handbags. Instead of trying to figure out why that is, I think we should all agree to accept it and move on.   When I buy for Glam & Sassy, I think about what I crave when I choose a bag to complete any look.  From classic and structured, to blingy and attention getting, and, of course, a fabulous clutch that says, “I am here to have fun and all I need is my ID and my lip gloss”!  Check out these latest styles that I am currently in need of therapy over!
